You love this town even if it doesn’t ring true, You’ve been all over and it’s been all over U

OK, some random thoughts.

Its going to be a busy weekend, so much to do, so many places to go. The problem is I have so much I want to get accomplished and only a short time to do it. Thanx in part to training at work (more on that later) and a required change in scheduling. I'll most likely watch the Super Bowl (or part of it) here in kentuckiana in a solitary state. Something I haven't done in 30 years. Couple that with the lack fo the traditional "shot per score" ceremony with JR, it won't be the same. Probably better for my liver though.

OK, the training, looks like I get 2 weeks of training in classroom stuff and then the other 2 continue, and I go back to being the manual bitch. And when we hire the 2 additional manual bitches, the senior one and I will go through training. Thats the theory. Knowing how this place operates, it won't happen like that. I'll be languishing in piles of manuals until my hands become grotesquely scarred with paper cuts.. then I'll go to training in a rushed manner because theres suddenly an opening.

OK, maybe its not that bad, but it amazes me how slow this place moves, especially for an overnight company. And how the forward planning isn't really there on my level. Its the way of business it seems. QUick profit now, to hell with the future.

And while I'm ranting, the senate wants to change the rebate system, to give moeny to people who make more and people on Social security. Well, if you make $100,000 a year, u don't need the $500. People who make way less do though. And notice the rebate has shrunk by $100. Now I'm not only support paying people who make 2 to 3 times my salary, I'm also supporting people who are on social security (which looking at my tax return I'm already paying for Grandpa's around the country to have a steady supply of viagra). And this, by all reports, is an idea fromt he Democrats in the Senate. It's enough to make me want to vote Republican.

I guess I should be fair, they are adding language to close the loophole that allowed illegal immigrants to get rebates.

Rant off.

I did my taxes the other day, thank god for turbo tax online. The refunds should be on the way back to me. And I'm confused that King Bush claimed he hadn't raised taxes, I seem to have paid more this year than last year, with a lower income. I don't get it. Its enough to make me want to vote Democrat... oh wait.. is there a third party option?

The idea of buying an island and founding the Emirate of Daquiriland sounds more and more appealing.

I'll take this opportunity to respond to a few of the comments left on here of late: Yes, yes, your right, absolutely not, and leather chaps and boustierre are always a good idea!

And since I know it makes his day, I just want to mention Ryan in this blog. Watch out for the killer baboons.

I’m on a plane, with cocaine, and I’m all Lit Up again

K, not yet on the plane, and I don't think theres cocaine on it, though it wouldn't surprise me if there was. But I'm getting ona aplne soon. Taking a browntail back to the ATL. And even though Grace seems to think her specil day is over, I say NAY!!!! It's being stretched into a special weekend!

I'm also getting giddy to see Susan. The last 2 weeks feel lie a month. And I do miss her so much when shes not aorund.

Ok, now that everyone has vomited..

The apartment is coming together. I'm obtaining furniture from the previous residents, so I'll have someplace to sit. And this stuff looks to be in better shape than my last furniture (remember the black couches??? The one Jersey broke her ass on?)

Otherwise, theres not much else. I was talking to some co-workers tonight, and through about three of us we seem to know every dispatcher in the country. For a large industry, there only seems to be about 1 to 2 degrees of separation. Perhaps its because most of us ar somewhat gypsy-ish in our life of going from airline to airline, little ones we all start at, that go out of business, and tht group spreads, and the process repeats. Eventually some one from each carrier seems to end up at a "major" and turns out, we all started in the same place (for the most part).

I found it amusing.

ANd now politics. Seems we're getting a refund on taxes here soon. If you made under $75000 last year. Thats fine, I'll take money I've already paid in taxes. What gets me though is people who didn;t pay taxes last year is getting money back. WTF? Thats my tax money! And this in hopes that we'll all go out and spend our $600 and boost the uS economy. First off, thats much too boost the economy, its like 4 tanks of gas. I say, we all take a trip to some other country and spend it there!

Well, I think that covers my soapbox speech for the week. Now I'm going to screw around for about 45 minutes and then brave the rigid weather to go out to my plane. No jetways here!

Mmmhmhm corndogs...

Where is that global warming when you need it?

Well, I found a new place here in Louisville. I spent the last week scouring the area looking for a place to live, and I've learned something about Louisville. You can't get an apartment with both a washer/dryer and a garage for a reasonable price. So now I'm shooting for a 2 bedroom upstaird plce with hardwoods and a washer/dryer already installed. And in a struck of moderate luck, the two girls who live there now want to sell their (very red) couches. Conveniently i need cheap couches. I'll just have to live with red, but they do look comfy.

The upside is the place is in the middle of The Highlands area of town. Within a 4 blocks, there a couple dinners, a Tapas bar, used DVD/Music/Book store, a microbrewery pub, a pizza pub, Qdoba, banks, and a store that sells interesting leather and lace outfits. And theres plenty of room for visitors.

In other news, its freakin cold. I mean seriously, I think I saw a penguin out in the pond by the apartment here. So I've sequestered myself in for the night, after some bar hopping last night. I found some nice irish pubs and a piano bar. It was something to do at least.

Thats about it for today, nothing earthshaking. Oh, and for all of you kids in Georgia with the snow... quit freaking out, its not gonna hurt you! Go out and play in it, drive slower and you'll be fine.

Well I have lasagna in the oven and i better go pay attention to it. I'm looking forward to being home next weekend and seeing everyone. I do beleive that, before the apartment i cleared out in PTC, there should be a gathering!

Stay warm everyone!

Attn: Complaints Department.

I don't have much to say, but since I'm paying $5 for wireless internet here at the Luoisville International Airport I thought I would at least do something moderately worhtwhile.

Of course I wouldn't be in this position if not for the fact that Argyle Sillystring Argyle sucks. I'm not sure I should go into details, but just trust me... they blow! And now the next flight out is delayed for about an hour or more. And its not even an Argyle Sillystring Argyle flight. But it is a Delta type flight so.. I blame them, since they've been sucking it up to.

I'm so looking forward to getting home, getting food, and getting to be with Susan. I apparently may have to spend time with my newfound mistress this weekend too. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage that, but I'll probably need rest on Monday. :-)

OK.. thats enough, I'm going to go pick up some cheese to go with this blog. I could go on (mostly about work), but I'm afraid I'll have more to bitch about next week so I'm going to save up for it!

You’ll never drink alone down there, good god I feel at home down there

So I'm indulging in one of my more ricockulous pleasures... watching The Real World. If any of you missed the MTV show of spoiled people who seem to have model-esque good looks and incredibly slutty tendencies, this season the sent them t Sydney. Everyone surely knows of my love affair with that city. And the main reason I watched so much of this season was the scenery brought back good memories. And maybe for the drama queen cat fights... the girls were pretty bitchy too.

I just relaized they didn't have an angry black man or flaunting homosexual.. or a combinaton of the two, on this season. Ratings will be low.

Ayways, the final episode is on, and they all were just shot having some grub and singing with the band at a wonderful irish pub called The Mercantile Hotel. Now, I spen a fair amount of time and money in this place. I sent two people there when they went down. I think Joe got laid and Ryan called me to proclaim it was the greatest pub on earth. Though I think his decision may have been influenced by the Vic Bitter. I'll never tell what all I did!

I met my ex-fiancee there. Well, I guess it's my twice Ex'd fiancee there since we broke it off twice now. And luckily, Gaie is still a good pal and has been a fabulous adviser over the past 6 years.. wow, has it been that long. And she was always very accomodating o my drunk dialing her late at night.. which I suppose was made more palatable b it being middle of the afternoon there.

So, here's to special places and interestin friends. Amazingly, acocrding to Ryan.. they still remember me there. If any of my loyal readers make it to Sydney, head down to the Rocks and have a VB at the Merc!!

PS.. I proofread the subject line, happy Grace?

Feeings, nothing more than feelings.

Bad feeing seem to be in abundance today. Whether your wretching your lunch out in Espana or beinf filmed with your first grade class for local TV, there seems to be something not just right around. Other than learning my girlfriend is a celebrity, today has been thus far uneventful. Though, theres some rough weather coming this way, that can be fun.

SO my anxiety today started when I woke up. I usually don't remember my dreams, but this morning I awoke with a feeling of anxiety and, well... just a little freaked out.

I have a bit of a fear of heights, and my drema had me placed at the top row of a very high stadium. And below me was the Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps performing a show. And not that being ridiculously high on the stadium was enough, I apparently was sitting on a 10 foot tall pile of cushions. And I was scared for my life. I apparently got down off the cushions and onto a less precarious perch.

But the damage was done, I woke up (before my alarm went off) and was so anxious and enrvous I had to make sure i was only bed high off the floor.

Other than that I cruised a part of town known as Old Louisville today. And theres lots of potential inthe older houses there. I was checking out some potential apartments, but I'm not sur eit's where I want to me. I'm also not sure where in town I want to be period. Though I'm leaning toward a couple options and checking on others. Soon... I'll have some place everyone can come to Louisville and party!

Now I'm off to make a sammich, pour a cold beer, and watch TV and Thunderstorms for the night.

I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried. I’ve had my fill; my share of losing.

oday marks the end of a long and arduous journey. I have officially received my Taco Mac Passport Club Jacket. Yest, 325 beers, $2000 later I have a nifty new navy blue jacket. The celebrations abound! I would like to thank everyone who helped me along to the way, and all those who believed me and helped me acheive this goal! And just short of 2 years since I joined the club, and 5 months since sine I actually passed the mark to get the jacket.

OK, so enough of such nonsense. I'm home in metropolitan PTC this weekend. It was a tough decision. I'm glad I made the decision to come down. Its been nice just hanging with Jersey and J and Adam. Thre was even an outing to the Tavern. And as always, it proved good for people watching. And there was enough alcohol involved to not only have me dancing, but J also. Somehting that I have seen maybe once!

Then saturday night, we all just kind of hung out around the casa watching football. The three of us, possibly all home for an evening for the first time since moving in. Each consuming our respecitve christmas gifts (I recieved an mini keg of Paulener from Adam and bottle of Woodford Reserve Bourbon from J). It was just kinda nice. as much as I look forward to my own place, I'll miss the roommates. And not only for the furniture they provide.

Of coruse I have a feeling ll the furniture is been well used (if u know what i mean) and is in need of replacement. Could be the noise caused by the cracked couch and the chair losing screws.

I've got a long week ahead, waiting to hear if I'll be upgraded (with a significant raise) and then really looking for a home to occupy in SDF.

I'm also feeling overdue for a foreign adventure. I blame Grace for that. Though it seems I'm gonna be a groomsman in July. I get to get dressed up, I hope we have obnoxious pink tuxedos! ANd I also found out some confirmation about a couple people in my past... well, one of them. And I don;t mind so much about what happened, but it does bother me no one said anything. Oh well, I've finally found great girl who makes me happy, and I love her more. I finally made a good choice.

Heres to getting through another week. Why can't everyone I know move to Luosiville with me? Think of the great parties we could have! WHo's gonna end up nked in apartment swimming pools with me this summer?

Went the distance now I’m not gonna stop, just a man and his will to surviv

Heres to random blogging...

I like how everyone's surprise for the year was Susan and I hooking up. Yeah n one saw that one coming i suppose, but I'm glad it did.

I'm kinda feeling blah. My foot is hurting again for no apparent reason, I think it may have somethign to do with my shoes. Perhaps time for new ones, especially since the lining is coming out. Oh and the pain they seem to be causing.

I bought a Jimmy Buffett CD last week with a gift certificate (thanx Darci!), and to my surprise it wasn't just a double CD, but a DVD was included. The CD and DVD were recorded live in Anguilla. I'm very much pondering running away to a warm beach type area, possibly inspired by the fact todays high in Louisville was 20. Yes, I said hi. And theres this strange white stuff on the ground... the locals call it snow.

So, in addition to missing Susan, I'm also feeling a little homesick. I mean ti wis a great apartment, and theres always such fun people around there. I was kinda feeling blah about not having that here when I move in a couple months. I'll be back to entertaining myself. Well once I do move up to Louisville on a more permanent basis, everyone has a standing invite. And feel free to center visits around Derby Days (Chas) or the Kentucky Bourbon festival (I think that one caught Tanjoes attention). I may even be able to find Ryan some Arabs to make him feel more at home.

And I expect Grace to show up often.

I'm also a little sad college football is ending. NFL just isn't the same.

I think it may be time to let Susan see me really go out partying... that could be scary.. for her. Might be time for a CU visit.

Everyone keep good thoughts that I could get upgraded soon.. should know in a week or 2 for sure. I hate the uncertainty and the waiting.

So, things I've learned lately, don;t taunt tigers in the zoo, they will eat you! Seriously kids, what the hell were you thinking? And now your going to sue the zoo (nice rhyme)! OK, yes its tragic some one died, but this is the first time in 40 years or so a tiger has even attempted to escape. And it specifically seemed to chase down the people that were screwin with it. Whats sad, is they'll probably get some money out of this. That pisses me off.

And to the oil people charging me a ridiculous mount for gas, I think they're profits should be returned to the consumers... hrrrmm theres another platform for my upcoming political campaign.

I think thats enough randomness for tonight. Everyone be safe and stay warm!

Long nights, impossible odds, keeping my back to the wall.

Happy New Year!!

I'm up here in Louisville, wheres it freaking cold. I don't think it ever passed the freezing mark today. Now theres a nice dusting of white topping on everything. Yay, I got to see snow. Too bad I have to go to work tomorrow. That makes me a little sad.

I hope everyone had a nice christmas and New Years that followed. After coming back to work in between, I had some very nice holidays. Of course the time spent with friends and family was much to short. I had a great time with Susan and her friends over the weekend And i experienced my first Trans-Siberian Orchestra event. I have to say it was very unique and I really enjoyed it. The surprise appearance of Tommy Shaw put the show over the top. For those who don't know, Tommy Shore was a member of the 70's/80's band Styx. Great times!!!

Other than that, I suppose its time for addressing all those new years goals and resolutions Easy, I'm not making any. I don't do predictions either, I'm always wrong. And the the goals I have aren't specific to 2008, but seem to be an everyday sort of thing. Theres of course things I would like to do, and I'm going to do my best to make those happen. But I'm not into getting all sad when life throws me a curveball and I know things change. So I have some hopes and dreams, and we'll see if I can bring some of them to fruition.

Other than that, its back to thr grind tomorrow. I'm hoping to hear some news pn potential upgrades at work, and then tart my apartment hunt here in earnest.

Well, i'm going to crack open a beer (theres a fine loal brewery that makes a nice dark Stout, thats aged in a bourbon barrel... yum) and cheer Hawaii on to victory against UGA... its not looking good for them though.
